1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Çakır
Born in Adana in 1975, Dr Barış Çakır entered Çukurova Faculty of Medicine in 1993 after Çukurova Electric Anatolian Technical High School. During his technical high school education, he worked in “handicraft development workshops” for 4 years. Therefore, after graduating from medical school, he planned to choose a surgical branch in which he could use this skill.
In 1999, he started his Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery training at Kartal Training and Research Hospital. He continued his studies on microsurgery, which is one of the most difficult surgical branches. During his training at Kartal Training and Research Hospital, he performed nearly 500 microsurgery operations.
He worked on fingertip breakouts in children. During his studies, he developed a new “vessel suturing technique” and prepared his thesis on this subject. He presented the vascular suture technique he developed at the 2004 National Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery congress, and with this work he won the “first prize in the assistant paper competition in the experimental branch”. He worked on muscle movements in the repair of cleft lip, which is one of the congenital anomalies, and the muscle suture technique he developed was awarded the “first prize in the assistant paper competition in the clinical branch”. In 2004, at the Media park clinic in Cologne, Germany, Dr. He worked with Serdar Eren for 1 month.
During his assistant education, he published 11 international and 8 national articles and made 9 oral presentations at national congresses. After his specialization, he became interested in sculpture art and art history in order to achieve more successful aesthetic surgery results. He studied Sculpture in Isparta Süleyman Demirel University Fine Arts Department.
He continued his education on sculpture in Malatya İnönü University Fine Arts Department. He continues his sculpture and drawing education with Yusuf Başoğlu. Married and father of two children, Op. Dr Barış Çakır is currently serving in Nişantaşı, İstanbul.
2. Assoc. Prof. Dr. H. Emre Koçak
I was born in Adana in 1985 because of my father’s job. I completed my primary and high school education in Bolu. In 2003, I started a beautiful and long journey by starting Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
After 6 years of medical education, he earned Specialization in Ear Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery for 5 years and I worked in Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Education Research Hospital for 6 years and gained great experience both surgically and academically and received the title of Associate Professor.
In 2019, I have been serving in my own clinic in Ataköy Towers. Although my special interest is nose and face aesthetics, I have experience in all of the Otorhinolaryngology operations.
I have been doing the Volunteer Doctor activities, which I describe as the profession of my profession, in the body of the Volunteers Association since 2015. I provided health services to people in need in Agadez, Tesavue and Aqui regions for 4 days and 15 days in Niger, the country of Black Africa. Many more in the future..
3. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süreyya Şeneldir
Dr. Süreyya Seneldir graduated from Istanbul University Medical Department in 1991. He completed his two-year general surgical training in Haseki Hospital as an intern and chose to specialize in Otorhinolaryngology. For the next seven years he worked in Vakıf Gureba Hospital, expanding and deepening his knowledge of his particular field of interest – nasal surgery.
Süreyya has carried out over 10,000 functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty operations over the course of his career. He has also attended – and joined in – countless courses and conferences at a national and international level. In 2012 he founded the Rhinoplasty School as a means of sharing his experience and philosophy with other rhinoplasty surgeons.
The School has held more than twenty course sessions to-date, all of which Süreyya has personally run. Over 2,000 surgeons have now passed through the program, which is in its sixth year. He also set up the related Cadaver Course and Fellowship Programme, which give participants the chance to practice the theory taught in the initial course.
Süreyya has also built up an extensive archive of photo records and surgical videos since the outset of his career, an invaluable body of material which is used to train practitioners at all levels. He has recently finished a book on Rhinoplasty, a two-year project which contains more than twenty years of experience, expertise and insights. It covers specialised surgical techniques pioneered, developed and refined by Süreyya himself and is complemented by Augmented Reality technology and high-quality photographic images.
Süreyya’s is a passionate advocate of harnessing the latest technology to improve the patient’s, and surgeon’s, experience. His philosophy of creative productivity underpins much of his work, including the creation of two product lines – MagicSaw and Rhinosmarts.
He is a regular attendee and speaker at conferences around the world, delivering presentations and performing live surgery demonstrations.
4. Dr. Merve Selimbabaoğulları
Born in Istanbul in 1986. Dr. Merve Selimbabaoğulları graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2010. He did his compulsory service as a family doctor and worked as an internal medicine assistant at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital for a while.
Afterwards, she started her specialization in Ear Nose and Throat Diseases at Sultan Abdulhamid Han Training and Research Hospital. She completed her residency in 2020 and became an otolaryngologist.
Since the beginning of his assistantship, the doyen of the rhinoplasty community, Mr. Kiss. Dr. He attended the meetings of Süreyya Şeneldir and attended his trainings.
She was interested in rhinoplasty and facial aesthetics during and after her residency training and performed many surgeries. He worked as an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist at Maltepe State Hospital between 2020-2022 and has been accepting patients in his practice since 2022.
5. Dr. Hüseyin Özay
Dr. Hüseyin Özay started his medical education at Dokuz Eylül University in 2012. After his medical education, he continued at the same university in 2018 and completed his specialty training in the ENT clinic.
During his residency years, he was particularly interested in rhinology, olfactory disorders and rhinoplasty, and participated in more than fifty congresses during his education by conducting research on these subjects.He started to work as a faculty member at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University in 2021.
During his time as a lecturer, he gave lectures in the field of ENT and carried out academic studies. During these years, he participated in many educational activities, including cadaver courses, meetings and congresses.
He continues his job at his own doctor office in İstanbul.Also, he combined rhinoplasty and facial surgery to achieve the golden ratio on the face.
6. Dr. Gökhan Mersinlioğlu
He was born on 1987 in İnebolu. He studied medicine at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine between 2005–2011. Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital (now known as Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital) completed my specialty training in the clinic of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
He worked as an ENT and head and neck surgery specialist in Kütahya Simav State Hospital and Tekirdağ Çorlu State Hospital, respectively. In this process, he performed many successful otolaryngology, head-neck, nose-face aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries.
He has been working as a private practice doctor since 2019. He works especially on nose and facial aesthetic surgery and also serves in the diagnosis and treatment of general otolaryngology diseases. With the experience of many examinations and surgeries; It has adopted working principles that are patient-oriented, prioritize patient safety, attach importance to ethical values, and aim for the most comfortable treatment and surgical process for the patient.
