1. Dr. Dilek Polat, MD
Born in 1990 in Bursa, Dr. Dilek Polat completed her high school education in Bandırma. She graduated in 2015 from the Faculty of Medicine at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.
After achieving success in the Medical Specialty Examination (TUS), she began her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at İzmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital and completed her specialization in 2021.
Dr. Polat completed her compulsory service between 2021 and 2023 at Kars Harakani State Hospital, where she actively took part in the diagnosis and treatment of numerous gynecological conditions.
Focusing particularly on female sexual health in her professional career, Dr. Polat has specialized in the treatment of conditions such as vaginismus, painful intercourse (dyspareunia), low sexual desire, anorgasmia, vulvar vestibulitis syndrome, and vaginal dryness. She effectively applies cognitive-behavioral therapy methods in the treatment of vaginismus.
Actively working in the field of aesthetic and functional gynecology, Dr. Dilek Polat’s areas of interest include labioplasty (labia minora aesthetics), perineoplasty, vaginal tightening surgeries, genital fat injections, laser vaginal tightening, genital whitening, orgasm shot, genital mesotherapy, PRP applications, menopause management, genital skin diseases (especially lichen sclerosus), chronic vaginal infections, and urinary incontinence treatments.
Dr. Polat has participated in numerous training programs and congresses both nationally and internationally, and successfully completed the Cosmetic and Functional Gynecology Fellowship program organized by ISAGSS in 2022.
She is a member of the Hera Vaginismus Treatment Association and ISAGSS (International Society of Aesthetic Genital Surgery and Sexology), closely following scientific developments in her field.
Since 2023, she has been continuing her work at the Hera Clinic Nişantaşı branch.
2. Prof. Dr. Banu Kumbak Aygün
Born in 1972 in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Banu Kumbak Aygün completed her high school education at Kayseri Science High School. She graduated in 1996 from the Hacettepe University English Faculty of Medicine and completed her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2001 at the Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.
After her specialization, she began her career at Istanbul Memorial Hospital, where she worked on assisted reproductive treatments. In 2006, she joined the Bahçeci IVF Center, focusing on infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. Between 2009–2012, she worked as the responsible physician at Fırat University IVF Center and also served as a faculty member.
In 2011, she became an associate professor, and in 2017, she was promoted to professor. Dr. Aygün primarily focuses on IVF treatments, reproductive surgery, gynecological endoscopy, polycystic ovary syndrome, and uterine anomalies. She has participated in international training programs on laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and remains active in academia through publications, book chapters, and conference presentations.
Her professional memberships include TJOD, TSRM, Endometriosis Society, ESHRE, and ASRM.
She is currently actively working at her private practice in Üsküdar, Istanbul.
3. Dr. Ayşe Duman, MD
Born in 1973 in Samsun, Dr. Ayşe Duman graduated in 1996 from Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. Following her graduation, she began her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed her specialization in 2001 at the Zeynep Kamil Women’s and Children’s Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
After her specialization, she gained extensive clinical experience in pregnancy follow-up, childbirth, and gynecological operations while working in various public hospitals. She later moved to Istanbul and worked in private healthcare institutions, where she focused particularly on natural childbirth, childbirth preparation, and pelvic floor health.
Adopting a holistic approach to women’s health, Dr. Duman has also received training in medical yoga, breathing therapy, and sexual therapy. She provides both medical and psychological support to her patients with an approach that emphasizes respectful and natural birth processes.
Her areas of interest also include the postpartum period, mother–baby relationship, and women’s psychological well-being. She contributes to public awareness through her published books and educational seminars.
She is currently actively working at her own clinic in Üsküdar, Istanbul.
4. Prof. Dr. Ateş Karateke
Born in 1961 in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Ateş Karateke graduated in 1985 from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. After his medical education, he began his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed his residency in 1990 at the Zeynep Kamil Women’s and Children’s Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
After his specialization, Prof. Dr. Karateke worked in various public hospitals and focused his clinical and academic studies on gynecologic oncology, pelvic floor surgery, and advanced gynecologic laparoscopic surgery. His professional experience quickly led him to perform high-level surgical procedures and earned him a respected position in his field.
In 2004, he was awarded the title of professor and appointed to the academic staff of Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. A member of many international associations, Prof. Dr. Karateke has produced numerous scientific publications, presentations, and educational materials, and has served as both a speaker and moderator at congresses.
He has advanced expertise in procedures such as pelvic organ prolapse surgery, uterine and ovarian cancer surgery, hysterectomy, and vaginal reconstructive surgery. Karateke, who also holds a subspecialty in gynecologic oncology, follows his patients in this field through both surgical and multidisciplinary approaches.
He is currently actively working at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in Fatih, Istanbul.
