1. Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu considers medicine to be an art. He approaches all his work with an artistic mindset, providing personalized plans for each patient, maintaining open communication, addressing all pre- and post-operative questions and concerns, and achieving the natural results he aims for after surgery.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu has focused all his education and scientific work on a single area of the human body: the face. He performs surgeries exclusively in the facial region. For this reason, the Ministry of Health has awarded him a Specialization Diploma in Facial Surgery.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu is Turkey’s first selected and accepted Official Fellow of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (physician with advanced subspecialty training).
Continuous innovations occur in medicine and surgery, and Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu contributes to these advancements. He has developed, applied, and described six different surgical techniques that have been published in some of the world’s most respected medical journals.
After completing his specialty training in Ear, Nose, Throat, and Head & Neck Surgery, his scientific work was highly appreciated. He continued his academic research at the university and earned the title of Associate Professor in October 2015.
He serves as an instructor at the Facial Plastic Surgery School, where 10–15 selected specialists receive facial plastic surgery training each year from among the applicants.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kayabaşoğlu is a member of the Facial Plastic Surgery Association and also serves on its Board of Directors.
He is the only physician in Turkey to have passed the European ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery Board exam and hold these diplomas. Additionally, he is one of three physicians in Turkey to have obtained the International Facial Plastic Surgery Specialist Diploma by passing the exam in the United States.
As of 2025, he has been awarded the title of Professor.
He currently serves patients at his private clinic in Şişli, Istanbul.
2. Dr. Ali Çetinkaya, MD
In 2012, I began my specialty training in the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery clinic at Health Sciences University Ankara Training and Research Hospital.
During my residency, I had the opportunity to learn and perform numerous aesthetic, reconstructive, and microsurgical operations.
In 2014, I participated in the International Microsurgery Course held in Monza, Italy, and obtained internationally recognized microsurgical competence.
In 2015, with the support of the Ministry of Health, I performed surgeries on numerous cleft lip and palate and burn patients in Uzbekistan over a period of approximately 10 days as part of an overseas healthcare program.
I have enhanced my knowledge and skills by attending numerous domestic and international congresses and courses.
In 2017, I completed my residency and earned the title of “Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist.”
Between 2017 and 2019, I worked at Aydın Atatürk State Hospital, performing a wide range of aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries.
I gained three years of experience in private practice and the private sector in Aydın and Istanbul.
I am proficient in English and have an intermediate level of German.
I am a member of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (TPRECD), the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society (EPCD), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
I primarily perform facelift surgeries.
I am currently practicing at my private clinic in Ataşehir, Istanbul.
3. Dr. Erman Ak, MD
Dr. Erman Ak is a Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist with international training and surgical experience, specializing in facial, breast, and body contouring surgeries. He continues his work in aesthetic surgery at his private clinic in Istanbul, Turkey.
With modern surgical techniques, a natural-results-focused approach, and an artistic perspective on facial aesthetics, Dr. Ak treats aesthetic surgery not merely as a technical procedure but as a personalized planning process tailored to each patient.
Dr. Ak completed his primary and secondary education in Mersin and attended Mersin Science High School for his high school education. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014 and subsequently began his specialty training in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Istanbul University, Çapa Faculty of Medicine.
During his residency, he actively participated in hand surgery, congenital hand anomalies, nerve transfers, and microsurgical operations, gaining advanced surgical experience particularly in the field of facial surgery.
In 2018, he received advanced microsurgery training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan under Prof. Dr. Fu Chan Wei, a pioneer in the field of microsurgery. In 2019, he delivered an oral presentation on “ALT flaps” at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery Congress held in Bologna.
He completed his specialty training with a thesis entitled “Investigation of Donor Site Morbidity After Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flaps.”
After completing his specialty, he contributed to the establishment of the Plastic Surgery Department at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital and served as the head of the department for an extended period. During this time, he successfully performed the hospital’s first outpatient jaw bone transplant surgery.
In 2022, he conducted advanced facial and breast aesthetic studies at Villa Bella Clinic in Italy alongside Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti and Chiara Botti as an ISAPS scholar. In 2021, he earned the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS) Certification of Competence in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Erman Ak plans aesthetic surgeries based on the patient’s facial proportions, tissue characteristics, and individual expectations rather than standard templates. His surgical approach focuses on preserving naturalness while achieving balanced, youthful, and aesthetically harmonious results.
4. Dr. Orhan Murat Özdemir, MD
I was born in 1971 in Ankara. I lived in Bergama, İzmir, until I started medical school. In 1988, I was admitted to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1996.
Afterwards, I passed the TUS exam and began my specialty training in the Department of Aesthetic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Ankara University, becoming a certified aesthetic surgeon in 2002. As part of my compulsory service, my first assignment was as an aesthetic surgeon at Kırıkkale High Specialty Hospital. In January 2006, I resigned from the public sector and opened my private practice in Ankara, beginning my work in the private field.
I am currently serving patients at my private clinic in Çankaya, Ankara.
5. Dr. Feridun Elmas, MD
Dr. Feridun Elmas completed his high school education at a Science High School and continued his medical education at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul.
During his university studies, he participated as an observer in neurogenetics laboratory work at Yale University School of Medicine in the United States, which is considered one of the top universities in the world. He began his specialty training in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Ankara Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital.
Throughout this period, he gained experience in thousands of surgeries. He also attended numerous congresses and workshops, published articles in national and international journals, and presented at national and international conferences. After completing his specialty, he fulfilled his compulsory service in Burdur, performing numerous plastic surgery operations for patients from both domestic and international locations.
Op. Dr. Feridun Elmas is a member of ISAPS (The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (TPRECD), and the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society (EPCD).
He currently sees his patients at his private clinic in Konyaaltı, Antalya.
6. Dr. Ozan Bitik, MD
I began my medical education and professional career at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. After graduating from medical school in 2004, I immediately started my specialty training in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at the same university.
After completing my residency in 2010, I pursued a fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, U.S.A. During my time there, Cleveland Clinic was ranked the 3rd best hospital in the United States. It was at this institution that I deeply embraced the “Patients First” principle. During my fellowship, I received advanced training across the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery, actively seeing patients, performing surgeries, and managing emergency and post-operative intensive care.
During my fellowship, I had the opportunity to work under the mentorship of James Edward Zins, one of the world’s leading experts in facelift surgery, and learned the deep-plane facial anatomy and advanced deep-plane facelift techniques. My work on deep-plane facial anatomy was awarded the Best Aesthetic Presentation at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Congress held in New Orleans in 2012.
After completing my fellowship, I returned to Turkey to focus my professional work on facial aesthetics. Between 2013 and 2017, I returned to my alma mater and professional family, Hacettepe University Department of Plastic Surgery, as a faculty member. During these four years, with the support of my mentors and colleagues, I matured further in my career. I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2015.
At the university, in addition to facial aesthetics, I was actively involved in microsurgery, hand surgery, tumor surgery, and other reconstructive aspects of plastic surgery, as well as in the education of residents and students. Due to the time and energy constraints imposed by the intensity of my academic career, I decided to leave Hacettepe University, where I enjoyed working, to open my own private practice.
In my ongoing academic career, I have published over 35 international scientific articles accepted by international indexes (SCI/SCIE). You can access my publications on the “Publications” section of my website. Among these works, I have described surgical techniques in rhinoplasty and facial aesthetics for the first time in the medical literature. I continue my scientific work with a team with whom I previously collaborated at the university and still produce knowledge in private practice. Scientific rigor is an uncompromisable principle in my practice. I believe that every physician, regardless of their institution, should follow the scientific literature and contribute to it. In my clinical practice, I do not perform any procedure that is not supported by scientific evidence or vetted by the literature.
I currently serve my patients at my private clinic in Çankaya, Ankara.
7. Dr. Görkem Çalışkan, MD
Dr. Görkem Çalışkan was born in 1982 in İzmit. After completing high school at Çanakkale Science High School, he was admitted to Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2001 and continued his education in Ankara.
He graduated from medical school in 2007 and initially passed the TUS exam to join Hacettepe’s General Surgery Department, where he worked as a resident for 10 months. During this time, he was inspired by the Plastic Surgery Department and decided to resign from General Surgery, retake the TUS exam, and complete his compulsory service in Hakkari.
After TUS, he was admitted to the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2009 and completed his specialty training, earning his certification in 2014.
Following his specialty, he continued his practice at Muş State Hospital and later at Turgutlu State Hospital. Throughout his training, he participated in numerous studies and presented his work at national and international congresses.
He currently continues his practice at his private plastic surgery clinic in Bayraklı, İzmir.
