Best Audiologists in Turkey

Dr. Audiologist Emel Uğur was born in Çanakkale in 1982. She completed her academic education in audiology in the PhD Program in Audiology at Istanbul Aydın University. In her doctoral studies, she conducted research on brain mapping of motion sickness using EEG and virtual reality technologies. In her master’s studies, she evaluated the effectiveness of virtual reality-based vestibular rehabilitation.

She began her professional career at Istanbul Training and Research Hospital, where she worked on pediatric audiology, otological diseases, and vestibular system disorders. Since 2015, she has been working within the Acıbadem Healthcare Group. She continues her work at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital and Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University.

As part of her academic career, she serves as a faculty member and program director in the Audiometry Department at Acıbadem University Vocational School of Health Services. She continues her academic and professional activities in audiology education and clinical practice.

Her clinical areas of interest include hearing loss, balance disorders, motion sickness, virtual reality-based vestibular rehabilitation, and the assessment of cognitive and vestibular functions in elderly individuals.

2. MSc Audiologist Perihan Dumanlar

Audiologist Perihan Dumanlar graduated from the Department of Audiology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2018. Following her undergraduate education, she completed her thesis-based master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Disorders at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Institute of Health Sciences at Ege University. She delivered a presentation titled “The Relationship Between Working Memory and Language Skills” at the 11th National Audiology and Speech Disorders Congress.

She has received various advanced trainings in the field of speech and language disorders. Her clinical areas of interest include stuttering, childhood apraxia of speech, language and speech disorders, theory of mind, and social skills. She holds certifications in DIR Floortime therapy and feeding therapy.

She works in the areas of language and speech disorders associated with autism, speech and language problems related to cleft lip and palate, language and speech disorders due to hearing loss, speech sound disorders (articulation and phonological disorders), and pragmatic language disorder. She provides stuttering therapy, SOS feeding therapy, and Level 202 Floortime therapy.

3. Dr. Audiologist Rışvan Deniz

Dr. Audiologist Rışvan Deniz is among the first graduates in the field of audiology. He completed his undergraduate education between 2011–2015 at the Department of Audiology, Faculty of Health Sciences at Istanbul University. Between 2017–2019, he completed his master’s degree in Audiology, Speech and Language Disorders at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, and between 2019–2023, he completed his doctoral program at the same university.

He worked as a researcher in the TÜBİTAK-supported project titled “Development of Direction and Distance Perception in Individuals with Hearing Loss.” He has published articles, book chapters, and papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and has served as a speaker, panelist, and scientific committee member at various congresses. He has also delivered courses in different areas at audiology congresses.

Between 2015–2019, he worked as an audiologist at the Audiology Department of the ENT Clinic at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. Between 2017–2019, he served as a lecturer at Üsküdar University, and between 2019–2020, at Medipol University. Between 2019–2022, he worked as a specialist audiologist at the Audiology Department of the ENT Clinic at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. Since 2022, he has been continuing his work as a doctor audiologist at the Audiology Department of the ENT Clinic at Koç University Hospital.

His clinical areas of interest include hearing loss, hearing aid applications and patient follow-up, tinnitus, evaluation of pediatric hearing loss, assessment and rehabilitation of vertigo and dizziness (such as Meniere’s disease and BPPV), cochlear implant candidacy evaluation and follow-up, middle ear implants, and bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA). He has also served as a lecturer in pediatric audiological testing and evaluation, vestibular system assessment, and electrophysiological evaluation of hearing loss.
